Costa Dorada

Situated on the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, Costa Dorada (Golden Coast) covers ten counties and 183 municipalities. Its capital city is Tarragona.

Costa Dorada Costa Dorada has a temperate Mediterranean climate characterized by a clear, sharp atmosphere and skies of intense blue.
Temperatures range from 7 to 10º C in winter and 20 to 26º in summer.

The countryside of the Costa Dorada boasts unspoilt areas of striking beauty and interest: to the south, the Delta del Ebro Nature Park and the Ports de Tortosa-Besseit National Reserve, and to the west, the Prades Mountains. Between these two areas there lies the Serra del Montsant, a mountain range with a lack of vegetation and animal life.

Apart from its fine sandy beaches, Costa Dorada offers a wide variety of historic excursions such as the Imperial Tárraco, modernistic Reus, Moslem Tortosa, medieval Montblanc as well as Cistercian Monasteries and Romanesque hermitages.
