Costa del Sol

Situated in the region of Andalucia, Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun) consists of the coastal towns and communities in the western part of Malaga province in the south of Spain. It includes the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcantara, Puerto Banus and Estepona.

Costa del Sol became an international tourist resort in the second half of the last century when a few rich people came to these shores looking for something different. This brought about mass tourism which changed the area from a fishing and farming community to one of the most popular holiday destinations.
